Robert Wylie’s instinct for furniture and interior design was shaped by his North Carolina roots and his early studies in Fine Arts. His career began with global travels, where he refined his eye for proportion, texture, and detail while importing distinctive furnishings and décor for the American market.

In 2007, Robert founded Urban Colony, a Los Angeles showroom serving both retail and the trade. The showroom became a launching point for numerous interior design projects and introduced Robert to a recurring challenge within the industry: sourcing upholstered furniture that offered both quality and value, produced and delivered with consistency.

That challenge inspired a solution. Robert established Black Label Home, a brand dedicated to delivering elevated, made-to-order upholstery designed for the needs of design professionals. Today, he devotes his expertise and passion to building collections defined by thoughtful design, dependable craftsmanship, and trade-first reliability.
